Making it Real.

It’s been a long time, and yet after so many years, I finally have realised a material and real version of a game that I designed. No longer bound on print-to-play ethos or using meeples as placeholders, and I did it – for a friend. Behold good nerdfolk, my chums and I are playing ‘Nick & Francis’ (an in-joke), a deck-builder not dissimilar to Dominion, but obviously so much better!

It was, if I might say, a rather big success! We played for about an hour and everyone had a good time (or at least were  laughing though their suffering…). It played smoothly with only a few and minor moments of confusion and we found a pleasing resolution when my chum Nick won the game! Now that I have a reliable and not expensive solution to print good quality cards, I may be unstoppable. If I can talk with Nick & Francis about licencing, perhaps this may get released as is. If that doesn’t come to pass, a little editing means I can find a way to sell this to anyone interested!

2024 – It finally happened. An Afour game release.

It took a long time, and as the designer I’m still not 100% happy with what I have… but… it is a final released version of my game, what started as an untitled scribbled sheet of notes, becoming ‘B.A.N.G’ and then retitled to ‘Tigger Happy’ and finally the true form titled: In-Action.

Even if I’m not pleased with the version I released, it is a release, and that’s something, we all have to put the brush down and take a look at the picture sometime, this is my time. It’s not perfect, but what is?

It’s playable, and it has in it the core idea’s that I so long ago penned hurriedly into existence. I may now consider that ‘Tigger Happy’ what I see to be the fully fleshed version of the game might also get to see the light of day.

If you are a table top gaming enthusiast, if you are curious just what I consider to be a game I wanted to play, why not buy a copy, I’ve priced it to shift at just £3, which in honesty wont even cover to cost of running the page you are now reading…
